An employee was assigned to install a small hydraulic cylinder at 6 Clean #1 Payoff hold down roll. The employee had the cylinder in place on the blank end clevis with the pin inserted. While the employee was lining up the rod end clevis, their right hand pinky finger was partially inserted in the pin hole. When the cylinder dropped, it struck the tip of the employee's gloved finger resulting in amputation of an eighth of an inch of the finger. The amputation did not include bone. | |||||
